I told you to watch this space for more give-aways! Today’s contest is to win a copy of Balenciaga and Spain by Hamish Bowles. This is an exhibition catalog from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco’s exhibition last year. Worn Through writer, Lauren Michel reviewed the show back in May 2011 and included a number of wonderful photographs, plus an interview with Hamish Bowles.

While I’ve probably worn baby doll inspired pieces, I like the gowns with flamenco influences and his short jackets. Had to laugh when I saw this giveaway–I gave away a copy on my blog a year ago, but never had the opportunity to see the book I sent to a lucky reader.
This book has been on my personal wish list for some time. I went to an exhibit of French Couture gowns in 1990 and was so thrilled by the opportunity to share just how much I was inspired by Balenciaga that I’ve written a blog post on the topic.

I love this mint green gown. I’ve seen so many versions of similar dresses from a few years later and I know they all were inspired in some way by Balenciaga and his clean lines.
