This past weekend, I went to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/601795529860058\/\">French Gulch Old West Days<\/a> (about half an hour North of where I live). A few of the activities sounded intriguing &#8211; &#8220;Mountain Men Exhibits&#8221; and &#8220;Craft Booths&#8221; as well as re-enactors in costume. Many of the historical and educational institutions here were closed for the day, because they planned to be in attendance there &#8211; including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;ved=0CC4QFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fshastahistorical.org%2F&amp;ei=CVAOUpXGA6an2AXdloHwCQ&amp;usg=AFQjCNEgbQxMXVyMnx6o6F8BkH-mxVhABQ&amp;sig2=YCe48V4AkTLz2d4GitmiLg&amp;bvm=bv.50768961,d.b2I\">Shasta Historical Society<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;ved=0CC4QFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shastalibraries.org%2F&amp;ei=91AOUrXvGKe22AXzjICQDQ&amp;usg=AFQjCNH-IRzGWmC-abRGBPlB3uPqunMUeA&amp;sig2=NigsHsaOOidhwh1vfFb8-A&amp;bvm=bv.50768961,d.b2I\">Shasta County Library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m eager to explore the resources of both places, along with the costume collection at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;ved=0CDwQFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.turtlebay.org%2F&amp;ei=FlEOUp2xJ8Tb2QWVtYD4Ag&amp;usg=AFQjCNFYyYvulSQRYgAbIvuVXhPBHEiF0w&amp;sig2=AReyGk4OI1ozwg0ZvxXHew&amp;bvm=bv.50768961,d.b2I\">Turtle Bay Exploration Park<\/a>.
